The International Spa Association declared October to be Spa Awareness Month.

Participating spas and suppliers will offer demonstrations, tips and incentives.

Promotions will be listed on the association's Web site, at www.experienceispa.com, which launched on June 1.

The site features a search engine enabling users to find a spa based on geographic area or type; articles on spa experiences and news; resources for researching the industry, and samples of spa cuisine.

In other spa news, Olympia, Wash.-based GeoAgents.com entered into an alliance with SpaView.com to provide targeted marketing and electronic delivery of promotions to travel agents.

The alliance will work through GeoAgents.com's Web site and with Travel Desktop software, a management and marketing tool for agents, set to launch in the coming weeks.

SpaView.com will provide content to the GeoAgents site, and GeoAgents.com will promote SpaView to expanded agent and consumer audiences.

Meanwhile, spas all over the world are sprucing up and offering deals to entice clients to visit.
