BARCELO HOTELS &
RESORTS will open a fifth
property within its Barcelo Maya Beach Resort complex in the
Riviera Maya. The all-inclusive, 756-room Barcelo Maya Palace Hotel
will open at the end of 2007. The all-suite property will have
bathrooms with double sinks and walk-in showers. Room amenities
will include Internet access, large-screen TVs and minibars.
THE HILTON LOS CABOS Beach & Golf Resort said it completed a remodeling of
its 375 guestrooms. The renovation was undertaken by the design
firm Paul Duesing Partners, the same group that designed the rooms
at the One & Only Palmilla in Los Cabos, at a cost of
approximately $15,000 per room. Among the design touches are
painted plaster walls, sculpted headboards, antiqued cabinetry,
marble bathrooms and flat-screen TVs. Up next will be a remodeling
of the resorts restaurants and lobby bar.
THE ONE & ONLY PALMILLA is offering to reimburse clients for the cost of passports
for up to two children under 18, up to $97 per child. The offer is
included in the resorts seven-night Escape to Baja package, which
includes two free nights for kids under 18. The offer is valid for
stays from June 1 to Oct. 31. The passport costs will be credited
to the client upon check-in. Customers must present a copy of the
Complimentary Childrens Passport Form from the resorts Web site,
www.oneandonlyresorts.com, as well as proof of purchase between the
booking and travel date and a passport stamp for Los Cabos
Airport.
