NEW YORK-NEW YORK HOTEL Casino in July will introduce Nine Fine Irishmen--an Irish pub whose name was inspired by nine extraordinary Irishmen in the 1800s who were said to have led lives of great adventure and achievement. The 9,000-square-foot pub, which will overlook the Strip, is designed by the Irish Pub Co. and will be built by Irish workers using materials from Ireland. The pub will feature the signature dishes of nine of Ireland's most notable chefs and will serve a variety of Irish stouts, lagers and ales as well as premium Irish spirits. For entertainment, there will be Irish music, dancing and storytelling.

SOUTHWEST AIRLINES VACATIONS extended its sale on Las Vegas packages-- available from all scheduled Southwest Airlines origin cities--for travel April 13 through June 12 when purchased by April 7. Sample two-night prices with travel from Los Angeles run $69 with accommodations at the Westward Ho, $104 at Imperial Palace and $139 at The Mirage. MEANWHILE, from April 25 to April 27, the Imperial Palace also will host the 2003 Vegas Ventriloquist Festival, whose theme is "Celebrating the Wonderful World of Edgar Bergen." Experts and historians will lecture and hold workshops on Bergen's work, which will be shown on film. Attendees also can visit a special Edgar Bergen/Charlie McCarthy display that is open from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Auto Collections facility. Festival activities also will include the wedding of Valentine Fox, a Las Vegas ventriloquist and festival promoter, to fellow ventriloquist Eyvonne Carter.
