The Lorient Interceltic Festival, originally planned for Aug. 7 to 16, has been postponed to 2021 because of extended restrictions due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The annual festival in the Brittany region of France would have marked its 50th anniversary this year. It will now be held on Aug. 6 to 15 next year.

The majority of the artists planned for this year have confirmed their participation in the 2021 festival.

The festival typically attracts some 80,000 visitors, and more than half of its events are free

Ticket holders will automatically be able to participate in next year's event; refunds also are available via the festival website.
