LONDON --
Discount city visitor pass purveyor Leisure Pass Group (LPG) added
a new Paris Pass to its product lineup, which already includes
similar high-tech passes for the British capital, New York, Dublin,
Philadelphia and York, England.
Angus Rankine,
LPG founding director, said the Paris Pass -- which offers free
transport and access to 70 attractions -- has been in development
for several years.
We created a very
similar product to the ones we offer in London and New York,
Rankine said. Paris was the last link in the top-of-the-line travel
triumvirate. We are delighted to ... now have passes in three of
the major destination cities of the world.
The Paris Pass is
available for one, three and five days. The one-day pass, priced at
39 euros (about $47) for adults and 11 euros ($13) for children,
offers all benefits plus a Paris Visite Travel Card for public
transport in zones 1 to 3, and a 1-hour river cruise.
The three-day
pass ($119 adults, $36 kids) adds a one-day hop-on, hop-off bus
tour and free entrance to the Explore Paris Exhibition, while the
three-day pass ($167, $63) tacks on free entrance to the Roland
Garros Tenniseum tennis-themed attraction.
Participating
attractions include the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Musee dOrsay,
Notre Dame cathedral, the Rodin Museum, the Georges Pompidou
Center, Versailles and the Bateaux Parisiens river cruise company.
Access to the Eiffel Tower, however, is not included.
Other perks
include a discount card and free gift at department store Galaries
Lafayette, a free aperitif with any meal at Latelier Renault, a
welcome cocktail or free creme brulee at Chez Clement and
discounted WorldRoam cell phone rentals.
The Paris Pass is
available online both to consumers, at the official site www.paris-pass.com,
and on a commissionable basis -- from 5% base pay -- at LPGs travel
trade site at www.lptravelpro.com.
We obviously want
to work with the travel trade, said Rankine. I look forward to
paying those commissions, and am looking to move agents more toward
10% pay, but on an achievement basis.
In addition,
Rankine said LPG would roll out a similar Rome Pass for the Italian
capital within three months time.
