Espacio's Mugen restaurant reopens under new chef: Travel Weekly

Mugen, one of the Hawaii's top restaurants, has reopened at the Espacio -- The Jewel of Waikiki hotel with new leadership. Colin Sato is the new executive chef and has developed a new dinner menu.

"We are thrilled to welcome chef Colin Sato and talented new beverage team members to Mugen and introduce a new era for our award-winning dining experience," said Wes Zane, food and beverage manager at Espacio -- The Jewel of Waikiki. "At Mugen, which means 'infinity' in Japanese, the sky is the limit, with a new slate of talent and a new concept that celebrates seasonal and local ingredients presented in a modern and elevated way. We couldn't be more excited to welcome locals and visitors alike to the new Mugen."

The restaurant's five-course menu is $180 per person and changes based on the season, and it was crafted in consultation with chef Alan Wong. Mugen's opening menu includes Kona abalone, Washugyu rib-eye, Kona kampachi and passion fruit bavarois. There is also a curated menu of cocktails and desserts.

Dinner service is available Tuesday through Saturday beginning at 5:30 p.m.
