The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) has partnered with the NFL's Los Angeles Rams on a deal to help promote tourism to the islands.
Under the agreement, the Rams will play a 2019 preseason game at Aloha Stadium on Oahu, with specifics on date and tickets to be announced at a later time. The HTA will market the Hawaiian Islands across Los Angeles in cooperation with the football team.
The partnership kicked off Nov. 11 when the Rams hosted the Seattle Seahawks at L.A. Memorial Coliseum and the Hawaiian Islands served as the presenting sponsor of the game. The HTA will also feature signage on Rams game days near the stadium's signature torch and will air spots during the Rams game day broadcasts on Los Angeles' ESPN radio affiliate.
"The Los Angeles Rams are a top-tier team and impressive organization, and we appreciate all they are doing to share the beauty, charm and allure of the Hawaiian Islands with their fans," Rick Fried, board chair of the Hawaii Tourism Authority, said in a statement. "The Rams preseason game next year at Aloha Stadium will be the highlight sports event of the summer in Hawaii."
The 2019 game at Aloha Stadium will be the first NFL preseason game held in Hawaii in more than four decades.
