Honolulu is hosting the second annual Hawaii Pacific Health ESPN Honolulu Open, a pickleball tournament at the Hawaii Convention Center from Oct. 8 to 11.
Last year's event attracted more than 1,000 players with many coming from the Neighbor Islands, Japan and the continental U.S.
"With the growing popularity of pickleball both in Hawaii and across the U.S., we're providing an elite venue and format for pickleball players across Hawaii and the Pacific," Matt Apana, general manager for ESPN Honolulu, said in a news release.
The event will feature more than 33 indoor courts for players ranging from amateur to professional. Registration is now open and costs $95 per player.
