The new “sea-to-table” restaurant Paakai is now open at Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore of Oahu.
Part of the 443-room property’s multimillion renovation, Paakai, which means sea salt in Hawaiian, will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays and features a menu loaded with locally sourced and inspired dishes, including Hawaii seafood and farm-raised lobster, Hawaii ranch beef and produce from Oahu farms.
“Paakai’s menu draws on the abundance of top-quality seafood from our local waters,” said Chef Conrad Aquino. “Guests will notice our unique touches, including a personal tableside preparation of fresh poke, a Hawaii specialty, and the use of Himalayan salt blocks to serve a special menu offering [that includes] filet mignon and Kauai shrimp.”
Scheduled to wrap up in the fall of 2013, Turtle Bay’s extensive renovation has included upgrades to each of the resort’s guestrooms and two of its restaurants, the addition of new retail shops and improvements to the hotel’s lobby.
