Officials at Kauai’s Princeville Golf Course have moved the reopening date for the facility to March 1, citing plans for additional refurbishment to the course and clubhouse.

Closed since Jan 29 for extensive renovations, the course was previously scheduled to reopen Dec. 14.

“We are excited about the refined improvements to the entire facility, which will elevate the golf experience for our guests,” said Mark Scheibach, vice president of golf development for Heritage Links, the company overseeing course renovations. “We have decided to allow more time to undertake a more thorough renovation of the clubhouse, develop a new ultimate driving range, extend the new turf grow-in period and provide up-training for staff to deliver a higher level of customer service.”

Heritage Links will manage golf and club operations when the Princeville Course reopens.

Along with comprehensive refurbishment to all of the course’s greens, remodeling work has been completed on its bunkers and fairways.
