Located off Kuhio Avenue, Romer House Waikiki's guestrooms pay "homage to Waikiki's mid-century apartment architecture," according to its website.

The hotel also has an izakaya and bar, named Izakaya 855-ALOHA. It will serve the late-night crowd with Japanese-Hawaii fusion cuisine. There is also a pool and bar on the second floor dubbed the Backyard that will serve bentos and cocktails.

"Highgate is committed to boldly expanding our hospitality portfolio so that every guest  -- be it kamaaina or visitor -- has an experience truly aligned to their interests, needs and spend," said Kelly Sanders, president of Highgate Hawaii.
