Virgin America operated its first daily nonstop flight between the Los Angeles International Airport and Honolulu on Thursday.

The carrier plans to expand service to Hawaii from LAX with daily nonstop flights to Maui’s Kahului Airport, beginning on June 14.

Virgin officials said the airline will operate both new daily routes with Airbus A320 aircraft.

“Virgin America travelers have long asked for routes to Hawaii, and we’re thrilled to respond with the addition of service from Los Angeles just months after our popular flights from San Francisco began,” John MacLeod, Virgin America’s senior vice president of planning and sales, said in a statement. “Since we first launched service to Hawaii last year, the response from guests has been extremely positive.”

Virgin inaugurated nonstop daily service between its hub at the San Francisco International Airport and Honolulu last November.

The carrier began daily nonstops between SFO and Maui’s Kahului Airport in December of 2015.
