4330 Island Highway South, Courtenay, BC V9N 9R9
Description
West Coast - Downtown.
Location and History
Overlooking the Strait of Georgia, a 10-minute drive south of Courtenay, the Kingfisher offers a quiet, coastal feel but is still within easy driving distance of shopping and restaurants.
This spa resort opened in 1979 as an inn and campground and began its transformation in 2005, after changing ownership. While the property has gone through significant updates over the years, the ownership has decided to keep the original lodge rooms—now called Ocean Standard—simple in order to keep locals and longtime customers from being priced out.
