Twenty minutes from the international airport and Blue Lagoon, this basic hotel is surrounded by lava fields. A free shuttle whisks guests to and from the famous baths of the Blue Lagoon, and the hotel's claim to fame is being the closest hotel to an active volcano. Unfortunately, this means that when there are rumblings, the road to the hotel might close, also shuttering the hotel at short notice.
