Location and History
Sharing a palm-lined drive with the Grand Hyatt Indian Wells Resort & Spa, across the road from the smaller, Tommy Bahama Miramonte Resort & Spa, 16 miles east of Palm Springs, in an area accessible to shopping, outside dining and entertainment, this hotel continues to hold its own, competing comfortably in between the livelier Hyatt, next door, and the more tranquil spa-oriented Tomma Bahama resort.
Within the last decade, the resort changed its name to Renaissance Indian Wells, but the change did not stick with repeat guests and locals who kept referring to it as the Esmeralda.
