Baghdad has several decent brand-name hotels as well as many small local hotels. Travelers should stay in as deluxe a property as possible to minimize inconveniences. Most of the cheaper hotels in Baghdad are not secure and have been abandoned by foreigners. The Royal Tulip Al Rasheed and Movenpick Al Zaytoon are the only hotels in the protected Green Zone.
