This tiny boutique-hotel is enviably located in the heart of small, downtown Juneau, which is beautifully enveloped by mountains and set on Gastineau Channel.
Opened in the 1980s, this petite urban hotel is the brainchild of an expat married couple who took the bones of an old derelict bakery building dating to 1902 to resurrect a unique stayover that has been enjoyed by corporate and nature lover types alike.
In 1997, the first hotel owners sold it to the current proprietors, who have, over the years expanded it from six rooms to the current 16 rooms, which include three unique suites added in 2019.
