Pestana Hotels' flagship is built around the 19th-century Palacio Valle-Flor and two stark accommodations wings that take up most of the once-spacious palace grounds. Large-scale sculptures dot the lovely, landscaped grounds, pointed out to guests as they are given the grand tour upon checking in.
