Location and History
This is one of three prominent historic hotels gracing the northern shores of Lake Lucerne. Belle epoque in design, the hotel was built in 1904-1906 as the Palace Hotel Luzern. It caused quite a sensation, providing exceptional luxury and was soon considered one of the most elegant hotels in the world.
Over the decades and through two world wars, the hotel had its ups and downs, changed hands several times, and went through many changes and renovations. Today, the iconic building is a designated cultural asset of national importance.
