Mgahinga Natl Park, Uganda
Location and History
Opened in 2002, This lodge is located very close to one of the entrance gates to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, in southern Uganda, almost on the border with Rwanda.
This location serves as an ideal starting point for numerous activities on the Ugandan side of the Virungas: from tracking gorillas and the rare golden monkey, hiking up a volcano, to strolling through local communities.
The lodge has set up several projects to help the environment and local communities, including the Batwa Vocational Center and the Batwa Cultural Heritage Tour.
