Description
Originally built in 1903, the landmark building known as Pershing Hall has been reimagined into an inn.
Location and History
Walking distance to the Palace of Fine Arts, the Marina District, Crissy Field and Fort Point, and with limited transportation, this location is a stretch for those in search of a central base and a long roster of amenities.
But romantics and history buffs will be in heaven at this 1904 National Historic Landmark planted within the walls of one of the country's oldest former military posts, in sight of the Golden Gate Bridge.
On a smaller more modest scale than the coveted Point Cavallo Lodge, set on the remains of Fort Baker in Sausalito, this elegant, unpretentious inn is fitted inside historic Pershing Hall (it was previously the post's bachelor officers' quarters), allowing guests to experience a taste of privileges once reserved for the top brass.
