Location and History
Nestled into a valley in the midst of the legendary Sierra Madre Occidental, this boutique hotel is a classic example of a rustic mountain retreat and a venerable addition to the roster of hotels surrounding the languid blue waters of Santa Maria de Oro lake.
It's a two-hour drive from the Puerto Vallarta airport and a half hour's trek from the state capital of Tepic's airport, both air hubs connected by the new toll road between Punta Mita and Tepic.
Located in north central Nayarit, the lake was once attached to a working gold mine.
