Description
Emerged from three different periods: Romanic, Gothic and Renaissance and traditional Roman-era walls in the interiors.
Location and History
The walled historic section of Old Split, called Diocletian's Palace was built nearly 2,000 years ago as the retirement playground for the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
The hotel, which is the result of merging three historic buildings of varying styles together, is nestled inside what used to be the emperor's personal chambers near dramatic Peristil Square, tucked within an assortment of narrow cobblestoned alleys, ancient fallen pillars, spanning archways and chiming bell towers.
