Eccentric Spanish Hacienda-style Hotel situated directly on the Plaza, popular with artists & writers.
Location and History
Enjoying an epicenter location facing the historic plaza in the heart of town, walking distance to almost everything except the ski area (a shuttle to the ski area stops near the front door), this three-story 1820 adobe has always been one of the more atmospheric hotels in town, and rates are pegged fairly to the mediocre (historic) standards.
Like its counterpart, La Fonda in Santa Fe, which also boasts direct views of the plaza, this hotel has a long history of hosting visitors, but unlike its peer, this one is remains a modest, creaky place with a friendly but occasionally daffy staff.
