Location and History
After driving several hours across winding, cow-lined roads to this serene peak located at nearly 10,000 ft, guests arrive to a traditional Bhutanese farmhouse series of buildings overlooking the Gangtey Monestary, the green Gangtey valley and the Phobijikha valley in the distance. The property was built from scratch, although its traditional architecture helps it to blend into the landscape.
The lodge is also located just a few minutes from the Black-Necked Crane Education Center, which is a popular tourist attraction, particularly in the fall when the cranes migrate to the valley.
