A virtual event to deliver the Silver Origin

Designed "to bring the destination on board," the Basecamp area will host educational activities with expert guides before and after excursions to learn about the wildlife, landscapes and the history of the Galapagos. Missing still is the Italian furniture.

Both the Restaurant on Deck 4 and the outdoor Grill on Deck 7, pictured here without furniture, will be able to accommodate all guests at once.

The Silver Origin's Explorer Lounge serves as its library, a room for daily lectures and briefings and, by night, a spot for cocktails and live piano performances.

Silversea's chief marketing officer Barbara Muckermann toured the Origin and approved of the size of the walk-in closets, saying they were bigger than her own.

Upper-level suites on the Silver Origin have ocean views from bathtubs and shower, a first for Silversea, chief marketing officer Barabara Muckermann said.

The cabins on the Silver Origin are designed in neutral tones to complement the environment, Silversea said. They also offer excellent views, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private balconies.

The Silver Origin was deliverd June 3 to Silversea Cruises by Dutch shipyard De Hoop.

During the Silver Origin's delivery, executives from the yard De Hoop and Silversea spoke with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. CEO Richard Fain, who was at home in Miami, via video link.
