New Riviera Maya resort opens: Travel Weekly

Blue Diamond Riviera MayaThe Blue Diamond Riviera Maya, a member of BlueBay Hotels & Resorts, opened in late January 10 minutes north of Playa del Carmen.

The 128-room all-inclusive resort, the former Mandarin Oriental, offers 10 room categories, ranging in size from guestrooms to junior suites, beachfront casitas and rooftop sundeck accommodations.

Facilities include three pools, two 18-hole golf courses, conference facilities for 150 guests, a spa, cooking classes, watersports, complimentary WiFi in public areas, roundtrip transfers, a fitness center and a spa.

The Blue Diamond has three restaurants, a tapas bar and several lounges.
Winter rates through mid-April start at $326 per room, per night, double in a cenote deluxe junior suite. Summer rates start at $256 per room, per night, double.

BlueBay also has resorts in Cancun, on Mexico’s Pacific coast near Manzanillo, in the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Spain.
