Playa Escondida faces temporary closure

The Mexican government has ordered Playa Escondida, known as the “Hidden Beach” within Islas Marietas in the Bay of Banderas, to be temporarily off-limits to visitors for environmental restoration and maintenance.

This temporary restriction will last at least two months. Islas Marietas will continue to be accessible by officially sanctioned tour operators, and visitors can still enjoy snorkeling, kayaking, and bird-watching in other locations.
