For travelers looking to experience the art and cuisine of Mexico City, consider Tia Stephanie Tours (www.tiastephanietours.com). Since 2006, Stephanie Schneiderman, founder of Tia Stephanie Tours, has been running tours in Mexico on art, architecture, culture and cuisine. This year she enhanced her offerings with five in-depth Mexico City Cultural Journeys.

The 2016 options follow, with dates and prices.

Mexico City 101 — Tia Stephanie takes travelers from the Historic Center, with its baroque and neoclassical architecture; the Palace of Fine Arts with its Tiffany glass curtain, murals by Rivera, Orozco and Tamayo; the National Museum of Anthropology; Polanco neighborhood; the cobblestone streets of San Angel; and city markets. Available at any time upon request. Pricing upon request.

Mexico City: Art, Culture, and Cuisine — The tour delves into the Mexican Muralism Movement, with an in-depth look at Diego Rivera. It also looks at the highly personal work of Frida Kahlo and how the vision of these artists is used as a window to the history and politics of Mexico. Aug. 14 to 21, from $2,435 per person.

The Enduring Legacy of Frida Kahlo — Travelers experience Frida mania. This special Anniversary of Frida’s Birth Journey will showcase some special exhibits of Frida’s artwork and her collection of indigenous clothing. July 3 to 10, from $2,440 per person.

The Mexican Rebozo Tour — The rebozo (traditional shawl) is an emblem of Mexico. This year, Tia Stephanie’s annual rebozo trip is scheduled around the Feria del Rebozo in Tenancingo, an area near Mexico City that is the country's rebozo mecca. In Mexico City, visit the shrine of Nuestro Senor del Rebozo and see the Franz Mayer Museum's antique rebozo collection. Sept. 8 to 17, from $2,685 per person.

The Culture and Cuisine of Mexico: Traditional to Contemporary — This tour takes travelers on a journey to explore the ancient foods of Mexico. In Mexico City they see how heritage foods, such as ancient corn, vanilla and amaranth, are being interpreted in very contemporary ways at restaurants such as Enrique Olvera’s Pujol and Jorge Vallejo’s Quintonil. Available any time upon request. Pricing upon request.
