Aurora borealis views, photography lessons and snowshoeing adventures are just a few of the highlights on Gondwana Ecotours' Northern Lights Alaskan Adventure.
The company is currently accepting reservations for this season's six-night outings, which feature cultural exploration by day and aurora borealis viewing by night -- including personal wake-up service when the northern lights are active. Fairbanks-area accommodations and daily breakfast are included in the six-night tour, along with transportation within Alaska, separate guides for activities and aurora viewing, a dogsledding excursion and a curling lesson led by local players.
Packages also offer reindeer hikes, a visit to an ice sculpture museum and entrance to the geothermal pools at Chena Hot Springs.
A portion of proceeds from the Northern Lights Alaskan Adventure benefits the Northern Alaska Environmental Center, a nonprofit working to conserve and protect habitats in interior and Arctic Alaska.
