The Berkeley-based active travel company Backroads is offering new Alaska outings that explore America's largest national park.

Classic and family-friendly versions of the six-day, five-night Alaska Multi-Adventure Tour in Wrangell-St. Elias tailor experiences to guests' ages and interests, while introducing them to outdoor adventures, scenic highlights and storied park sites.

Itineraries begin and end in Anchorage, and include options such as park flightseeing excursions, Root Glacier hikes, rafting on the Matanuska River, Turnagain Arm bike trips and a private Prince William Sound cruise. Family tours weave in child-friendly activities and programming geared to young guests; trips are also offered for families with teens and 20-something travelers.

Scheduled tours depart in June, July and August 2018, and custom and private excursions are also available.
