LAS VEGAS --
Caesars Palace is expanding once again with the Aug. 12 opening of
the $289 million, all-suite Augustus Tower.
Over the past
decade, the Strip-front property has increased the size of the
Forum Shops, added the Roman Plaza, built the Colosseum, expanded
its dining opportunities and renovated more than 600 guest
rooms.
The 26-story
tower will add 949 guest rooms, bringing the number of
accommodations to 3,340.
The rooms will
range in size from 650 square feet for a petite suite to 2,470
square feet for a three-bay suite, which can be set up as two
separate rooms.
Both rooms will
have features such as nine-foot-high ceilings; bathrooms with spa
tubs and TVs; a sitting area; flat-screen TVs linked to
propertywide digital TV systems with on-screen, high-speed Internet
access; and computerized minibars. Merino wool throws help guests
take the chill off.
The tower, which
overlooks the Garden of the Gods pool complex, also will feature a
VIP lounge, three wedding chapels complete with a photo studio,
retail space and a 35,000-square-foot spa.
The tower will
have two restaurants. The Augustus Cafe will be a casual dining
spot open around the clock. Guy Savoy, the namesake eatery of the
acclaimed three-star Michelin chef, is slated to open later this
year.
The towers debut
follows last months opening of an additional 80,000 square feet of
meetings and conventions space, for a total of 240,000 square
feet.
