In response to travel slowdowns triggered by Covid-19, a new Explore Fairbanks campaign encourages Alaska residents to support tourism businesses in their own backyard.
The organization's Explore Local initiative spotlights attractions, tours, dining venues, breweries, shops and outdoor adventures available in and around the Golden Heart City. A regularly updated document on the campaign's website outlines the opening status of more than 100 businesses, plus a chart mapping reservation requirements, sanitation protocols and discounts for Alaska residents and military members.
