With fall fast approaching, the days of summertime pool parties are waning. But the Palms Casino-Resort in Las Vegas is placing a temporary dome over one of its main pools to extend the season into the fall and winter.

The structure augments the property's dayclub/nightclub, Kaos, which opened in April. It will be ready by Oct. 31 for a Halloween show by Cardi B. The fully enclosed, climate-controlled venue, called Kaos Dome, will be up through March.

The 70-foot tall, transparent dome will cover the Demon With Bowl sculpture by Damien Hirst and offer 33,000 square feet of multiuse space on the pool area's west side, including 15 cabanas. Built by Miami-based Eventstar Structure Corp. the custom structure will allow for dayclub and nightclub indoor/outdoor entertainment, a pool experience for hotel guests regardless of the weather and corporate and private events.

In addition to Cardi B's "Demon Dome" party, inspired by the movie "Mad Max," the dome season will include parties for New Year's Eve, the Super Bowl, March Madness and spring break.

"This is part of the original idea, to run pool parties through the winter," Palms general manager Jon Gray told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "We wanted a transparent, full-daylight, enclosed and climate-controlled environment. It's incredible, it's massive and there is nothing else like it in Las Vegas."

Both the Kaos Dayclub and Nightclub are closed through Oct. 31.
