Cabana Bay Beach Resort lobbyUniversal Orlando’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort officially opened to guests on March 31.

The moderate-priced hotel is the fourth and largest hotel at Universal Orlando. When the second phase is completed this summer, the resort will include 1,800 rooms: 900 family suites that can sleep up to six people and 900 standard rooms.

The hotel’s theme harkens back to the throwback family beach vacations of the late 1950s and early 1960s with a colorful retro palette and iconic mementos sprinkled around the resort.

“We sought to create a place where families can spend time together and create long-lasting memories outside of the theme parks,” Russ Dagon, vice president and executive project director with Universal Creative, said in a statement.

The sprawling resort features a 10,000-square-foot zero-entry pool and 35-foot dive tower/waterslide; a bowling alley; a game room; a lobby lounge and pool bar; and the Bayliner Diner food court. It also includes the first adults-only Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio.

In June, Cabana Bay will open its second phase with a second 8,000-square-foot zero-entry pool, the first on-site lazy river at Universal and the Hideaway Bar & Grill.

Pricing at Cabana Bay Beach Resort starts at $174 per night for the family suites, with discounted pricing as low as $134 per night after four consecutive night stays. Pricing for the standard rooms starts at $119 per night, with additional discounted pricing as low as $93 per night beginning at four consecutive nights.
