The remodeled, 120-room Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort, formerly Wakulla Suites, opened to the public on June 28. The resort has undergone a $15 million renovation, including all of the of its two-bedroom suites, lobby, courtyard and pool area. The property is the first upscale resort in the area.
Just one mile from the Cocoa Beach Pier, the Polynesian-themed resort flaunts a massive, 75,000-square-foot waterpark complex called Wakulla Falls. The complex includes a 335-foot lazy river, small slides and a children's splash pad. Other amenities at the resort include a beach volleyball court, concierge services, shuffleboard, chaise lounges, beach umbrellas, coolers packed with ice, Bluetooth speakers and complimentary sunscreen and after-sun lotion.
Each of the two-bedroom suites can sleep up to six guests and include a king bed, two twin beds and a queen sleeper sofa in each room. Rooms can be combined into four-bedroom deluxe villas.
Reservations are available through westgatecocoabeach.com. Starting room rates for two-bedroom suites start at $216 per night. A two-night package, which includes two tickets to the nearby Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, starts at $199 per night.
