World Market Center — the Downtown Las Vegas facility that's home to the biannual gift, decor and home furnishings show, Las Vegas Market, and the year-round Las Vegas Design Center — is growing. In partnership with the City of Las Vegas, International Market Centers, owner and operator of World Market Center, has announced plans to construct a 350,000-square-foot Expo Center on the current campus.
The Expo Center will serve as meetings and tradeshow space and will help host Las Vegas Market, which draws approximately 100,000 people annually. The project is expected to cost $76 million, with the city chipping in $30 million via a tax increment financing note.
Construction is slated to begin within the next 18 months, and the building should take a year and a half to complete.
