Travel agent educational programs

Agent of Change, Mark Travel Corp.

Agent of Change aims to help agents succeed using an academic program geared toward both agents and agency owners at all stages in their careers and business development. Its cornerstone piece is the Mark Travel Corp. Summit, an annual training and networking conference for travel agency owners, managers, agents and independent contractors alike. Throughout the year, in-market and online training events complement Summit.

Carnival Passport, Carnival Cruise Line

Agents can learn all things Carnival with the Carnival Passport educational tool, which covers topics like new agent training, Carnival knowledge, FIT bookings, groups, sales and marketing and GoCCL (Carnival's online agent portal). Carnival Passport uses a variety of learning modalities like tutorials, videos, webinars, virtual games and crossword puzzles. All learning experiences earn agents credits applied toward one of six passport stamps, a measure of how much training an agent has completed.

Five Star Academy, Celebrity Cruises

Celebrity Cruises' Five Star Academy provides agents with online training to learn about all Celebrity has to offer. Agents earn a star for each level completed  as the name suggests, there are five in total  and move on to the next level. Once they complete all five and are officially a five-star agent, they receive CLIA certification credits and the chance to be invited to Seminars at Sea, Celebrity events, inaugurals and more.

College of Knowledge, Disney

The College of Disney Knowledge enables agents to learn about all things Disney: the Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Cruise Line, Adventures by Disney and Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa. Once agents have completed the self-paced online training program, they are encouraged to promote their accomplishment to clients. Taking a 30-minute knowledge assessment course each year is encouraged

Delta Vacations University, Delta Vacations

Established in 1994, Delta Vacations University provides several thousand U.S. and Canadian agents with more than 60 in-depth destination, specialty and business development classes at its annual event. For instance, at 2017's event in Atlanta, class topics included sales and marketing techniques, destination weddings and luxury products. At the event, agents have access to more than 200 representatives of hotels, destinations and products at the tradeshow.

NCL University, Norwegian Cruise Line

This year, Norwegian Cruise Line University was relaunched, featuring four levels of achievement: Associate, Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. The program is mobile and tablet-friendly and designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate. Each course has downloadable reference guides and fast fact selling points, and connects Norwegian and its students via a new private community on Facebook, NCLU Student Union. At Ph.D. status, agents have a broader range of opportunities to earn complimentary cruises.

OneSource Academy, Princess Cruises

The OneSource Academy online program enables agents to enrich their sales skills and enhance their knowledge of Princess and Cunard. The academy offers dozens of classes covering both Princess and Cunard through the OneSource Travel Agent Center portal. The more courses agents complete, the better the academy rewards. Agents move up through four tiers of the academy. Agents who reach the highest level in the OneSource Academy online training program, Commodore, earn a free graduation cruise.
