The AmaSofia is slated to begin cruising again on March 29 after the AmaWaterways ship's inaugural voyage was interrupted by engine problems.
Guests who were scheduled to travel on the March 22 sailing were moved to other ships, including the AmaViola, AmaPrima and AmaStella.
"Every effort was made to match guests' original stateroom categories on AmaSofia, and where needed, hotel accommodations and complimentary transfers were arranged to ensure a smooth transition to their new ship.
AmaWaterways' teams worked around the clock to ensure guests' travel plans continued as seamlessly as possible, and are grateful for guests' flexibility and understanding," the river cruise line said.
The ship was christened in Amsterdam on March 14 and embarked on its first sailing the next day. But the cruise was short-lived after losing power on two of its three engines on March 18.
The AmaSofia was towed for repairs while its passengers -- mostly travel advisors who had attended the ASTA River Cruise Expo the week before -- disembarked.
