AmaWaterways has remade the Chef's Table restaurant on its European fleet, converting the signature eatery into a true tasting menu experience.
The new menu features three appetizers, an intermezzo sorbet, three mains and three desserts, and each course is paired with a regional wine. The restaurant seats 28, and a demonstration kitchen lets guests watch the chefs prepare dishes like cod with beurre blanc and crayfish cake.
AmaWaterways president and co-owner Rudi Schreiner said that the redone Chef's Table, which was created in collaboration with executive chef Primus Perchtold, has resulted in "a truly distinctive, intimate experience."
"Our new tasting menu gives travelers the variety and choices we know they are seeking and, we believe, the very best cuisine available on the river," he said.
The AmaWaterways European fleet includes 18 ships, sailing on the Seine, Rhine, Main, Danube, Mosel and Douro rivers.
