Sustainable luxury adventure operator andBeyond will launch a river expedition yacht on the Peruvian Amazon next year.

The Amazon Explorer is under construction at the SIMA shipyard in Iquitos, Peru, and is slated to set sail in September 2026. The yacht will operate three-, four- and seven-night itineraries from Iquitos to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

AndBeyond executive chairman and CEO Joss Kent said that the company chose Iquitos as the operations base because the river is narrower and has less traffic. Yacht architect Ken Freivokh and Adriana Hoyos Interior Design are leading the yacht's design. The 32-passenger yacht will have 12 luxury suites, two superior suites and one deluxe suite.

The yacht's interior will be influenced by the Amazon and inspired by indigenous Amazonian people Shipibo-Conibo, known for their geometric designs. The yacht will feature local art.

Amenities will include a gym, spa, dining area and an interactive cooking station. A leisure area will have a pool deck and lounge.

Excursions will give passengers opportunities to explore the river, its tributaries and conservation areas, including through guided walks and nighttime expeditions. Guests can explore the rainforest via skiffs or kayaks. The expeditions will be led by expert guides.

The company plans to support community-led conservation projects, including one that aims to bolster the native river turtle population. AndBeyond also wants to establish a scholarship program for local students.
