Viking River Cruises was the latest to delay its relaunch date to the end of May.

With little hope on the horizon for any near-term opening of international borders, river cruise operators continue to postpone the start of their 2021 seasons.

On Wednesday, Viking announced it was suspending all cruises through the end of May, joining Crystal River Cruises in pushing back sailings until at least June 1.

AmaWaterways, Avalon Waterways and Scenic Group, which also operates Emerald Waterways, have suspended all cruises through the end of April, while Tauck is on hold until at least the end of March.

Amadeus River Cruises and Uniworld Boutique River Cruises haven't posted any official cancellations, noting they will be in touch with guests and travel advisors about any upcoming suspensions.

Domestically, American Queen Steamboat Company and American Cruise Lines have said they still hope to begin sailing in the final weeks of March.
