Viking will add a second ship in India in 2028, when the Viking Ganges will join the Viking Brahmaputra.

Both ships will sail Brahmaputra River cruises between Guwahati and Nimati Ghat in Assam as part of a 15-day itinerary.

The Viking Brahmaputra will debut in October 2027.

Viking also announced new departure dates for 2027, 2028 and 2029 cruises that are open for booking.

"Since announcing our new river voyages in India, we have seen strong interest from guests eager to explore this remarkable region," said Torstein Hagen, chairman and CEO of Viking. "By adding a second ship on the Brahmaputra River in 2028 and opening 2029 departure dates now, we look forward to inviting even more curious travelers to explore India in Viking comfort in the years to come."

The Viking Ganges, like its sister ship, will hold 80 guests and have 40 staterooms, including two suites. The ships will feature the Scandinavian design Viking is known for.

The 15-day Wonders of India itinerary will operate roundtrip from Delhi and include hotel stays in Delhi, Agra and Jaipur. The itinerary features an eight-day river cruise. Guests will embark on 13 guided tours and see as many as 10 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Viking will also operate pre- and post-itinerary land extensions, including in Delhi, Dubai, Kathmandu and Cochin/Mumbai.
