WASHINGTON -- AccessAir, a Des Moines, Iowa-based start-up, revealed its fare structure as it prepared to begin flights for Midwest travelers to both coasts.

The airline was slated to launch service Feb. 3 from Des Moines to New York (LaGuardia) via Moline (Quad Cities) or Peoria, Ill., and Feb. 4 nonstop to Los Angeles, all on 737 aircraft.

The one-way "corporate coach" fare will be $249, with a 21-day advance-purchase price of $199. The advance-purchase requirement will be waived for travel in February. The carrier is offering an introductory economy class fare at $198 roundtrip and a $99 one-way fare for youths, seniors, families and groups for tickets purchased by Feb. 28 for travel completed by May 9. After March 1, the economy class fare will be $298 roundtrip and the one-way fare $129.

AccessAir also is offering a Valentine's Day two-for-one deal.

The reservations number is (877) GO-ACCESS.

The carrier, paying 10% commission with no caps, said it is listed in CRSs and eventually will be bookable through them. It also plans to join the Airlines Reporting Corp.
