Delta and Kenya Airways have extended their codeshare network to include five new Kenya Airways routes from Nairobi and Accra, Ghana.

Conversely, the carriers have extended their codeshare partnership in the U.S. to include two new Delta routes from New York JFK.

Delta customers flying from JFK to Accra can now connect to Delta-marketed codeshare flights that Kenya Airways operates from the Ghanaian capital to Monrovia, Liberia; and Freetown, Sierra Leone. In addition, Delta has placed its code on Kenya Airways flights from Nairobi to Cape Town, South Africa; Harare, Zimbabwe; and Kigali, Rwanda.

The codeshares became active late last week, Delta said. They augment the dozen-plus Kenya Airways routes on which Delta placed its code beginning in 2018, including routes from Paris, London and Amsterdam to Nairobi, as well as several services between Nairobi and other African cities.

From JFK, Kenya Airways began placing its code on Delta flights to Washington Reagan and Indianapolis last week. The carrier already codeshared on Delta flights from JFK to Chicago O'Hare, Denver, Miami, Orlando, Phoenix, Charlotte and Raleigh-Durham, N.C.

Delta currently flies its own planes to four African destinations: Lagos, Nigeria; Accra; Dakar, Senegal; and Johannesburg.
