JetBlue will call its domestic first-class cabin BlueFirst.

The airline will also join Delta and United in selling unbundled basic fares in first class. JetBlue also will add a basic fare for its EvenMore extra-legroom seats in economy.

JetBlue has yet to set a launch date for BlueFirst, saying the cabins will roll out gradually beginning sometime this year. Flight shoppers will be able to choose between Flex, Standard or Base fares within BlueFirst.

Standard and Flex are similar to longstanding industry standard choices of refundable versus nonrefundable. Both fare types will come with free seat selection and no change fees. The Flex bundle will offer a refund for eligible cancellations, while the Standard option will offer a travel credit.

The Base fare won't include a seat selection, and flight changes will incur a fee. Travel credits will be provided for cancellations, but minus the fee. BlueFirst Base purchases will receive one TrueBlue loyalty point per dollar spent versus three points per dollar for the Standard and Flex tickets.

For EvenMore seats, JetBlue currently offers a standard option and a refundable option. Those will get a name change to Standard and Flex and an unbundled EvenMore Base option will be added.

JetBlue's standard main cabin seats, now merchandised as Core, will be renamed as Main. The seats will continue to be sold under three fare options, to be renamed Base, Standard and Flex rather than Blue Basic, Blue and Blue Extra.

The new merchandising platform is to be rolled out in the coming days.
