Southwest Airlines has expanded its participation in the TSA's PreCheck Touchless ID program after a pilot launch last month at Denver International Airport.

The service also is available at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta; New York LaGuardia; Portland, Ore.; Seattle and Salt Lake City airports. Members of Southwest's Rapid Rewards loyalty program who are enrolled in TSA PreCheck and who hold a valid passport may opt in to TSA PreCheck Touchless ID on the Southwest app.

With Touchless ID, travelers scan their mobile pass at the airport and look into a camera. The system compares their live image to a pre-registered photos.

In addition, Southwest is returning the ability to digitally check bags prior to arriving at the airport. After checking in for a flight, customers can check and pay for up to three standard bags. Payment options include Apple Pay, PayPal and credit cards, Southwest said.
