WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Rail Europe and DER are offering new four-
and five-country versions of Eurail Selectpass Drive.
It previously only was available for travel in three neighboring
countries.
Combining three days of rail using a Eurail Selectpass with two
days of car rental within a two-month period, the Eurail Selectpass
Drive for 2003 is priced at $291 per person for two people
traveling together in first class rail and economy car
accommodations in any three bordering countries; four- and
five-country versions are priced, respectively, at $326 and
$359.
Three other car categories are also available, as are extra rail
and car days.
According to Rail Europe, Eurail Selectpass Drive is more
economical than its rail passes; for example, three-country,
five-day combined passes cost $291, compared with $304 for a
five-day rail pass alone.
Travel agent commission is 7% to 9%, depending on booking
method.
