WASHINGTON -- The Air Force said bidders on an account covering
Yokota and Misawa Air Bases in Japan must bid separately on
official and leisure travel.
The Air Force said it will award two separate contracts for
official and leisure travel, although the same firm could win
both.
The estimated volume is $7 million in official and roughly $5
million in leisure travel at both locations, and rebates will be
required.
The incumbent, Corporate Travel Services of Oakland, Calif., has
a contract that combines official and leisure travel. As previously
reported, the business is going out for bid because the incumbent's
contract is expiring.
The winner or winners of the new contracts would start on Sept.
1 for a two-year base period with six six-month renewal options,
yielding a total potential lifespan of five years.
A draft solicitation is expected to be issued this month and a
final solicitation in January, followed by a preproposal conference
and on-site visit at both locations.
