TORONTO -- Expedia
Corporate Travel launched in Canada, targeting small to midsize
corporations.
The business,
headquartered here, includes rates from low-cost carriers WestJet
and CanJet.
Theres a
transaction fee of $9 plus tax for online air bookings.
Agent-assisted bookings cost $25 plus tax for domestic
flights.
One of the launch
clients is World Access Canada, a travel insurer headquartered in
Waterloo, Ontario.
ECT Canada is
geared toward Canadian-based companies and U.S. corporations with
offices in Canada. It is available in
English only.
Regarding future
plans, ECT Canada said it intends to introduce a French-language
version and integrated global reporting.
Expedia revealed
its intention last summer to roll out a Canadian offering. Omar
Ahmad, a founder of Expedias leisure site in Canada, is managing
director of ECT Canada, heading product development, marketing,
supplier relations, operations and sales.
ECT has operations
in the U.S. and Europe, as well.
The company said it
has than 3,000 corporate clients, including more than 2,000 in the
U.S. ECT added that 16 of its clients are listed in the Fortune
500.
